Objectif travaillé

Dans le plan muni d'un repère orthonormé $ \left(O ; \vec{i}, \vec{j}\right) $ on considère les points :

$ A \left( - 1 ; 2\right) , B \left(0 ; 5\right) $ et $ C \left(2 ; 1\right) $

Triangle ABC dans un repère orthonormé, A(-1;2), B(0;5), C(2;1)
  1. Montrer que les vecteurs $ \overrightarrow{AB} $ et $ \overrightarrow{AC} $ sont orthogonaux.
  2. Calculer le produit scalaire $ \overrightarrow{CA}\cdot\overrightarrow{CB} $ et les normes $ ||\overrightarrow{CA}|| $ et $ ||\overrightarrow{CB}|| $.
    En déduire la mesure de l'angle $ \widehat{ACB} $.
  3. Que peut-on en conclure pour le triangle $ ABC $ ?

Corrigé

  1. $ \overrightarrow{AB} \left(1 ; 3\right) $ et $ \overrightarrow{AC} \left(3 ; - 1\right) $

    $ \overrightarrow{AB}\cdot\overrightarrow{AC}=1\times 3+3\times \left( - 1\right)=0 $

    Les vecteurs $ \overrightarrow{AB} $ et $ \overrightarrow{AC} $ sont donc orthogonaux.
  2. $ \overrightarrow{CA} \left( - 3 ; 1\right) $ et $ \overrightarrow{CB} \left( - 2 ; 4\right) $

    $ \overrightarrow{CA}\cdot\overrightarrow{CB}=\left( - 3\right)\times \left( - 2\right)+1\times 4=10 $

    $ ||\overrightarrow{CA}||=\sqrt{\left( - 3\right)^{2}+1^{2}}=\sqrt{10} $ et $ ||\overrightarrow{CB}||=\sqrt{\left( - 2\right)^{2}+4^{2}}=\sqrt{20}=2\sqrt{5} $

    Comme $ \overrightarrow{CA}\cdot\overrightarrow{CB}=||\overrightarrow{CA}||\times ||\overrightarrow{CB}||\times \cos\left(\widehat{ACB}\right) $ on en déduit :

    $ \cos\left(\widehat{ACB}\right) = \dfrac{\overrightarrow{CA}\cdot\overrightarrow{CB}}{||\overrightarrow{CA}||\times ||\overrightarrow{CB}||} = \dfrac{10}{2\sqrt{5}\times \sqrt{10}}=\dfrac{10}{10\sqrt{2}}=\dfrac{1}{\sqrt{2}}=\dfrac{\sqrt{2}}{2} $

    L'angle $ \widehat{ACB} $ mesure donc $ 45^\circ $.

  3. L'angle $ \widehat{ABC} $ mesure $ 180 - 90 - 45=45^\circ $ également, donc le triangle $ ABC $ est rectangle isocèle en $ A $.
